Welcome to the workshop on KiCad software for designing a PCB layout on the 18th of June 2022. Here, you will get familiarise with the PCB layout of KiCad and have some hands-on experiments. Together we are going to familiarise with the library files from the internet and add them to the KiCad directory. We will start with a schematic drawing, add component assignment and finally generate and route the Gerber file.

KiCad is an open source software suite for Electronic Design Automation (EDA). The program handles Schematic Capture and PCB Layout with Gerber output. The suite runs on Windows, Linux and macOS and is licensed under GNU GPL v3.

As a live demo we will be designing the circuit board for our “Intelligente Pflanzenwand” in the MakerPort.
For the workshop you only need time! Computers, software, etc. will be provided by the MakerPort.
